Welcome to „Events by Frankfurt Aviation Friends!“

 A few things worth knowing about the visit to one of our spotter tours are summarized here:


Who we are

Frankfurt Aviation Friends was founded in March 2011 by some aviation enthusiasts as a private group focusing on „Planespotting at Frankfurt Airport“. With this „Events“ website, Frankfurt Aviation Friends supports the option for aviation enthusiasts to register for free at one of the four times a year photo / spotter tours at Frankfurt Airport.


How does free online reservation work?

Through the free online reservation you can book a seat on the spotter tour. Click on „Online Reservation“ in the menu bar. An information page for the tour will be displayed on the top of the page. Here you can reserve your place on the tour with one click. Follow the instructions on the following pages and complete the reservation. The reservations are checked before you receive the confirmation mail with the required documents. Only confirmed registrations will receive the application mail.

With the introduction of the online reservation, the application form used up to now has been omitted. Registrations and applications for short-term IDs received via e-mail are not processed.


What is the cost of participating in a spotter tour?

The tour costs 40 Euros per participant. Tickets can be purchased in Terminal 1, Concourse C, Level 2 (departure). Please follow the sign „FRA Airport Tours & Shop“.


How often can I book a seat?

Each participant can book only one place per tour offered. If more than one tour is offered within one month, the participant can not participate in any further tour during this period (30-day blocking period by FRAPORT).


Where can I get the application for the short-term ID card?

The application for the short-term ID is sent to the participants together with a template for easy completion and the current infoflyer with the confirmation mail.


What are the requirements for completing applications for the short-term ID card?

The short-term ID card entitles the user to access the company premises and must be filled in correctly by the subscriber with the corresponding data on the PC. With the confirmation mail, participants will also receive a sample with which they can simply complete the application. The completed application has to be signed and send back to

Applications  signed by computer – generated software  and / or digital signatures are rejected.


How do I find Tor (Gate) 3?

Tor (Gate) 3 is located about 300 meters east of Terminal 1, which you leave at the last exit (departure hall, opposite check-in 730-753) and directly to the right. Follow the road and turn right at the next corner, after about 100 meters you reach it (Google Maps – coordinates: 50.051228, 8.579281).


Can I take drinks to the tour?

Softdrinks, lemonade or water are allowed, but no alcoholic drinks. No smoking during the tour.


How do I get to Frankfurt Airport?

You can reach Frankfurt Airport by car via the motorways A3, A5 and B43 via the „Flughafen“ exit (follow the signs). The Frankfurt airport is very well connected to the rail network. From the Frankfurt main train station take the S-Bahn S8 and S9 to the airport (regional train station), ICE trains stop at the railway station.


Where can I park my car?

Parking is available in the area of ​​the Kelsterbach train station (Park & ​​Ride, long-term parking), at the station Stadium (Park & ​​Ride), as well as in the car parks at the airport.
